Once you have downloaded the zip file to your computer, extract its content to a folder of your liking.  You will find two folders, one for Captivate 4 (Cp4) and one for Captivate 5 (Cp5). Each folder has the necessary files for the different platforms. They will contain a single file called InteractiveLabelWidget.swf as well as a folder called InteractiveLabelWidget.wdgt.  In Captivate, you can use widgets in many different ways so please consult the Captivate Help for more information on this subject. However, here is listed, in order of preference, some ways to deploy and use the widget:

1. Copy the folder InteractiveLabelWidget_AS3.wdgt to the location C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 4\Gallery\Widgets. Then, from within Captivate, access the Widget Panel by using the CTRL+ALT+Z key combination. Now, from the widget panel, click on the refresh button. The widget should appear in the widget list. You can use it by dragging it to the stage or by clicking on the “insert” link underneath its name.
2. From within Captivate, access the Widget Panel by using the CTRL+ALT+Z key combination.  From the widget panel, click on the browse button and navigate to the folder where you have extracted the zip file content. Select the InteractiveLabelWidget_AS3.swf file and click on the Open button.  The widget should appear in the widget list. You can use the widget by dragging it to the stage or by clicking on the “insert” link underneath its name.
3. From the “Insert” menu, select the “Widget…” sub-menu and navigate to the folder where you have extracted the zip file content. Select the InteractiveLabelWidget_AS3.swf file and click on the Open button. The widget will be inserted on the stage. Please note that inserting the widget this way doesn’t make it available in the Widget Panel for future use. You should consider using one of the other methods discussed previously to insert the widget.

The widget can be configured once it has been inserted on the stage. Please again refer to the Captivate Help for more information on this topic. If you wish to configure the Interactive Label Widget specific properties, please consult the section entitled “Configuring the Interactive Label Widget”.

Do you have a version that works with Captivate 5 for Mac

  2. Whyves Says:

    Hi Nigel,

If you buy the widget, the zip file contains a Captivate 5 version. It should work for both Windows or Mac as it’s basically a swf file. The demo version only works for Cp4.
